The results of scientific research by Professor OE Glukhova entered into a multi-volume edition of «Graphene Science Handbook» - the first world's scientific encyclopedia on graphene.
The idea of creating the first world's scientific encyclopedia on graphene nanotechnology belongs to the world-renowned publisher CRC Press Taylor & Francis Group, specializing in the production of scientific and technical literature. According to the concept of publishers this multivolume work should become a desktop manual for research workers of higher educational institutions, employees of research laboratories, students, graduate students world over. For this purpose, a recognized expert in the field of graphene industry sent an invitation to present the results of their research. Special invitation to participate in the creation of graphene encyclopedia was received by Head of the Department of Radio Engineering and Electrodynamics, DSc., Professor Olga E. Glukhova. Editors Taylor & Francis Group noted the extensive experience of the work of Professor O.E. Glukhova in the this field and asked to write a chapter on the results of their scientific work.
Encyclopedia «Graphene Science Handbook» came out in May 2016 in six volumes. The main focus of the book is given to the description of the structural, mechanical, electrical, optical and chemical properties of graphene, as well as consideration of its main application areas. Head written by Professor O.E. Glukhova «Mechanical Properties of Graphene Sheets» entered the fourth volume of the Encyclopedia «Mechanical and Chemical Properties» and contains the results of original research in the field of predictive modeling of stress-strain state of mono and bilayer graphene under axial compression and bending with the help of the author's method for calculation of atomic grid local stresses of the deformed skeleton of nanostructures. Note that the O.E. Glukhova has long established itself in the scientific community as expert in the field of mechanics of nanostructures. It owns one of the first world's scientific papers on numerical evaluation of Young's modulus and other strength characteristic of carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoribbons.
Immediately after the print publication of the book «Graphene Science Handbook» Professor O.E. Glukhova received a letter from the editors of Taylor & Francis Group publishers with gratitude for the work done and the high scientific level of the presented results, as well as the proposal to prepare a monograph on on this topic. Publisher Taylor & Francis Group looks forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with Professor O.E. Glukhova.
