In October 16, 2016 the grand opening of a new laboratory in the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology - Laboratory of nanomaterials was held. At the opening ceremony, followed by a one-day seminar "Carbon nanomaterials for future applisations", world's leading scientists working in the field of creation and application of carbon nanostructures were invited.
Among the speakers at the seminar were
- Prof. Еskо Kauppinen (Aalto Univeristy, Finland) a report on transparent electronics on graphene - “Flexible electronics”,
- Prof. Anvar Zakhidov (University of Texas at Dallas, USA) with a report on solar panels on carbon nanotubes - “Carbon nanotubes for solar cell applications”,
- Dr. Toma Susi (Vienna University) with the results of the manipulation of individual atoms - “Manipulating individual atoms with an electron beam”,
- Prof. Alexander Okotrub (Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, SB RAS) new results of the application of hybrid carbon nanomaterials - “Hybrid materials based on CNT forest” and other leading specialists of the world and Russia.
The opening of a laboratory was preceded by report of the head of the new laboratory DSc A. Nazibulin. Professor O.E. Glukhova presented at the opening a report on a new software system KVAZAR / MIZAR, created in SSU, and the results of predictive modeling in 2D / 3D field of hybrid nanocomposite carbon materials to create optical antenna of the new generation and matrix field emission cathodes.
On the outcomes of seminar the plan of joint research activities of the scientific team, led by OE Glukhova and Skolkovo Tech nanomaterials laboratory headed by DSc A.Nazibulin was approved.
