Article by the scientific team of Professor O.E. Glukhova aroused interest in scientific circles

An article published in the journal "Applied Sciences" by the head of the Department of Radio Engineering and Electrodynamics, Head of the Department of Mathematical Modeling, Professor O.E. Glukhova and associate professor of the department D.A. Kolosov "Boron-Decorated Pillared Graphene as the Basic Element for Supercapacitors: An Ab Initio Study" aroused keen interest in scientific circles.

After the publication, the article aroused great interest among scientists. The website of the publishing house MDPI - Publisher of Open Access Journals provides detailed statistics on views of abstracts, articles, number of downloads, as well as the number of citations. To date, the abstract has been viewed 910 times, the full text of the article 783, the article has been downloaded 557 times and cited 5 times.

Such interest in this article of the authors is not accidental. The new work of the scientific team of Professor O.E. Glukhova is devoted to studying the properties of a new material based on columnar graphene and icosahedral B12 boron clusters as a supercapacitor electrode material. The new composite material demonstrates a high specific quantum capacity, a specific charge density, and a negative value of the heat of formation, which indicates its effectiveness. It is shown that the density of electronic states increases with the addition of clusters, which predictably leads to an increase in the electrode conductivity. It is predicted that the use of a composite based on columnar graphene and boron will increase the efficiency of existing supercapacitors.
